Set of six green vine leaf majolica wall plates
There is something quite special and timeless about green majolica plates on a wall.
Inspired by Carlos Garcia (scroll to see his stunning display of plates in a London project), we have sourced this fine set of six Clairfontaine green vine leaf majolica plates. They come from the French Faiencerie de Clairfontaine and they date circa 1880-1890. Stamped on the verso with the Clairfontaine RS anchor (‘Rigal and Sanejouand), the glaze pools into the deep recesses of the leafy mould, and they have an iridescent quality. We think they are rather marvellous.
